Help: Exhaust setup
OP - We can all tell you our opinions on which catback/midpipe/headers to go with but I'll give you some general info.
Headers - Longtubes (shorties are not worth it unless you are sold on keeping your stock midpipe for emissions purposes, in which case I'd stick with the stock manifolds unless you want to drop 350 plus installation for damn near no change)
Midpipe - X/H/Prochamber X = more raspy, high pitched H = deeper, more muscle car sounding and Prochamber = cleaner, deep, least amount of rasp
Catback - You can choose from Borla, Bassani, Magnaflow, Flowmasters, SSS, SLP < - Just to name a few
If I were starting from scratch on a BUDGET exhaust build....I'd go with MAC longtubes,Magnaflow catted X, SLP LM1's or 2's
If I were starting from scratch on an exhaust build without a budget....I'd go with Kooks Longtubes, Bassani o/r X, Bassani or Borla catback
Americanmuscle.com for pretty much anything exhaust related, and Summit.com also carries what Americanmuscle does not.
Also, if you want that classic Mustang sound....go with the MAC o/r H and Flowmaster catback.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

The cheapest way to address the stock exhaust sound is to install an O/R H-pipe first. A little more expensive would be to install a MAC Prochamber mid-pipe (my favorite). Second, you can add flowmaster mufflers for a classic sound (3 chambers if you don't want to be loud or 2 chambers if a little more volume is desired).
If money is not so much of a problem, I would absolutely start with a set of BBK long tube headers. Add a MAC Prochamber second. Finish it off with a Flowmaster cat-back. This is the set-up I run (with 3 chambers to keep the sound level down a little bit).
That is my 2 cents...

budget and sound are independent of each other. I could have put on $30 Dynomax bullets for mufflers and LOOOVE it and I have a great exhaust for ~$60 and install price.
It always has and always will come down to what YOU like. goodluck with it
