My guess then would be your accumulator. I would just take it to a transmission shop.

I thought the reverse band or whatever its called helps with the manual 1-2 shift and the OD band helps with the 2-3 manual shift?

its probably worth it to just get a used trans with less miles and have it put in at this point. i can get a used one for $300 with 40,000 miles on it and i dont really see the point in spending any money on a trans with over 200,000 miles....

Fair enough argument. Price would run you the same or less for a new transmission.

you should check for codes to make sure that this isnt some sort of electrical issue before swapping the trans.
