I'd say go with the JLT CAI ONLY IF you plan on bringing your car to car shows and opening the hood up. It looks great, however - for 300 smackaroos I'd rather spend it on something that will net me a gain. I think the most important thing to do when you begin modding you car is to first come up with two things. First - What is the end goal for the car? Power? Handling? 1/4 time? Street monster? Secondly - Budget...1k? 5k? 15k? 500 bucks?

Figure out those two things and you have all the resources you'll ever need on this forum right here to send you in the best direction to get you to your goal.

K&N drop in filter and pull off the intake silencer, it sounds meaner and the ole butt dyno shows and increase of about 3hp but the K&N decal bumps it up to 10hp

That is exactly what I thought when I read his post!!! You can get a JLT from AM delivered to your door for $229. I got one for my Bullitt and I love it. It is made of PVC tubing which heat soaks a lot less than the metal kits. A K&N is a good start, but I can't say that I feel like I wasted money on my JLT. I think I paid right at $200 to my door for it ~18 months ago.

I would agree that putting those funds toward a set of rear gears if you don't have them is a better use of the money. Gears should be the first mod if you want better accelleration.

For general reference, I gained ~18rwhp (235 stock and 253 w/ these mods) on my Bullitt with just a MAC Prochamber pipe, JLT CAI, and a canned SCT tune.

I could see 18 rwhp with those 3 things if you jumped up to 93 octane.

Why would you doubt the 18rwhp gain with those mods?
Unless you have a strong reason for doubting it, that is precisely the kind of reply that is unproductive and needless.

I'm not sure of the exact date of my UDP upgrade (from stock Bullitt UDP to STEEDA UDP). It is possible that they also were in between the two dyno pulls, but I am pretty sure they were after that time.
