You can get a killer setup with a turbo, you just have to setup the system correctly. You have to take into consideration the turbo size, the equipment of the turbo you chose, piping diameter, heads being used, cams being used, intake being used, compression, fuel being used, etc.
Start out with your goal, then you start asking key people very important questions...especially since youre this far along with a built motor, heads, and an intake all setup for high rpm performance. You'll have to start talking with people like Nick and Jim Cushman to really nail your cam choice so you dont give up too much spool time. Also, you'll have to start researching what turbo(s) will be optimal for your setup. I was talking with hoss the other night about turbos for about an hour and a half. He knows quite a bit, so i'd ask him some questions and pick his brain. But you have to pick out a turbo that is going to fit your needs and still spool rather quickly if you want to be a threat on the streets.
Like I've said before, your car is one setup. Everything needs to be working together to make it work to its potential. Your car unfortunately has a lot of high rpm potential, which is why its going to be crucial to pick your cams and turbo wisely to help it have quick spool and not a horridly high peak.
Also, word on other turbo forums, like for buick gnx's and imports, is that billet wheel turbos spool quicker and make better power than cast wheel turbos of larger sizes. Something to throw out there.

Check out turbochargedinnovation.com. One of Nick's customer's is running this kit with a Master Power turbo from an on3 kit and I believe is at or above 700hp and ran in the 10.0's or 10.1's recently. And the kit comes with a Precision billet 67mm, which is supposed to be much better than the turbo he's running. I'd consider dropping to a 3.55 or even a 3.27 gear, turbo's a load sensitive, so this should help your spool. Also, as someone else said, an auto will spool faster, but if your stuck on owning a manual like I am, I think a transmission with a longer first gear would be something to look at while you're beefing things up.
