he already has a stage1 cam, but if hes going with a blower for his FI thats another reason not to shave it (higher compression = bad with blower). nitrous loves compression though.

I saw that, but the bump in compression question was brought up by crash.

high compression+boost+pump gas=risky behavior

high compression+boost+E85=happy motor

i was wondering about the egr thing as well. but i wasn not aware that it was an auto car, that explaines why 300 on bolt ons/cams isn't easy. i'd just put a strim on it and max it out.

dwtjr - I think you should do a build similar to mustangman00. He has an auto/CMS stage 1's/S trim, and I think hes making something like 420rwhp through his auto. I think thats what I would do if I were in your situation.

egr=exhaust gas recirculation. at idle and cruising speeds the egr filters exhaust gases back in the intake to add more fuel into the a/f mix and i believe reduce intake temps a little bit. It wont hurt your engine to delete it as long as you turn it off with a tuner and there are only 3 benefits i know of by deleting it. 1) it looks a lot cleaner in the engine bay. 2) if you make it a habit of installing uninstalling headers/manifolds it is a lot easier without that stupid tube in the way. 3) if you are going to run an edelbrock intake with 6061 plenum (me!) the plenum does not have an egr hookup.

well all of these options give you power, but none of you thought of the cheapest way to make your car faster...weight reduction. get that pony to shed some pounds

would anyone recommend porting my heads through mhs? What numbers should i be looking at with ported heads. And i am getting a 3200 stall converter for people that is saying that is the best way to go

Nick McKinney at MHS is the absolute best to deal with. I have not heard one thing negative about him or his business/products. My advice is save your money and piece together an S trim....push 390-420rwhp and if you want more, build the motor and go through Nick at MHS. I do agree with the 3200 stall converter too.

Some people w/ autos that either are boosted or having knowledge of the autos handling boost are as follows -

ctgreddy (nitrous)
Killjoy (nitrous)
hangwire (2.1KB)
mustangman00 (S trim/CMS stage 1's)
Wannabegearhead (N/A for now, I think)
Tbirdscrwd (auto swap, had Vortech, soon to have KB IIRC)

Now some w/ Vortech setups -
Fred (lizzyfan)
Mitch (1slow85)
Matt (0949er)
V6stanger
