Ok... Im going to get shot by some of the forum members here when i say this but here it goes. Dont get a mach 1. Get a gt and throw in some gears, an exhaust, cold air intake, and some springs... youll have money left over and be able to beat a stock mach 1. The 99-01 cobras and mach Is are good... but honetsly when they only put down 60hp more to the crank AND weigh more than a GT... theres really not much a difference. If you like the looks, the functional hood scoop, the leather seats, and the 4v motor with terminator heads... then by all means get a mach 1. But if you just want something that is just as fast as a mach 1 and costs less... get a GT. Oh and one more thing.... WELCOME to the mustang fan world

I had that same thought when I was shopping for a mustang. I was originally going to get a gt and mod the hell out of it. Then I came across my Mach 1 for a great price. Took me 6 months to find it but I got it for $13,800 with 39,000 miles. It was just a little more then the gt's I was looking at and much faster. Now with the mods in my sig the car is very quick, it responded very well to the mods and I am very happy with it.

but then you're about as fast as a stock one and have run out of bolt on mods that are effective...

the only problem with the mach is the bottom end as far as power potential goes. if you're staying NA that should'nt be an issue though.
