Default Attempted to change fuel pump- Problems

Ok, yesterday I installed my Injectors and Pmas HPX maf.. I also attemped to get the Fuel pump out. I ordered a 255lph from highflowfuel.com Its just the pump not a whole assembly. Reading my vortech instructions. It states that there were two clips hold in the Assembly and to depress them. I found these two clips but for the life of me this Pump wont budge. It was difficult also cuz my tank was pretty full. I took the car off the road before winter so I filled it up prior.. Are there any tips or am I missing something? I looked online for a help guide but nothing goes into detail or shows pics.

I know when I did my SVT Focus pump in my GT it was was easy.
I would say get a hand pump and empty some of that gas out.makes it easier.
If I remember the clips youre talking about just pull off the pump(2).
Did you remove the whole bucket out of the fuel tank?
I remember you also have to unscrew a few tiny screws on bucket to get pump out.

Few tiny screws? I didnt see that in my Vortech Manual.. Which could explain why it wouldn't pull out..

I just pulled my tank to do dual pumps.... U hafta empty the tank some then unbolt the fuel hat then u have those 2 clips ur talking about and u I believe press then in at the top so the bottom of the clip unlatches then that pulls the fuel hat out and then u pull the fuel pump out. It shouldn't be sticking like that. R u talking about pulling the actual hat or the pump..wat can u get out?

I have an 03 too and there are no tiny screws besides the 8 that bolt the fuel hat to the tank its simply the clips that hold the hat in after u unbolt the 8 screws

Yes there is a few screws on bucket that you have to unscrew to get pump out of bucket. What Blk003GT said is right to the T as I remember when I did mine 1yr ago

Blk003GT I remember unscrewing some tiny screws on fuel bucket that sits in tank and hold pump.
But it was about a year ago..
Also at the time I did mine I was wonder if I should of did the MOD drilling holes in bucket. But I passed on that MOD.

Heres a pic I found ..these are the tiny screws Im talking about
