Those are 1.0" (4.0%) larger diameter than the the 265/35-18s in the front. I do not know what the exact curves used for ABS and t/c are, however that's a pretty large difference.

What is curious is that the t/c turned off as well, I can find no mention of that interaction in the ABS or t/c sections of the shop manual...

I had the same problem, it turned out to be a little sensor over the brake pedal, the wires were not making good contact. I got it fixed because my shifter wouldn't move, the brake lights were not coming on. We bought some connectors and connected the wires, the brake lights worked and the abs light turned off now the traction control button works too.

Default AutoZone scans this problem for you, at no charge...

I dont have a scanner yet, if I take the car ot Auto-Zone, will their free scan tool explain what needs to be replaced? Like wheel sensor, tone ring, something?
I also have this problem with a (possibly false) ABS wrning indicator light. I just took my '04 GT to an AutoZone in Danbury CT and they did scan t for me, at no charge.

The code on the scanner came back indicating that the ABS warning system was not getting a proper signal, presumably from the ABS sensor - hence the warning light. The brakes themselves work fine. The warning light simply comes on at intermittent times.

Research indicates 1 of 2 possibilities...
1) The connection (damaged wire, loose connector plug, etc.) may be faulty. This can be ascertained with a visual inspection. The sensor harness is located near the axle, close to the wheel. No way to tell how bad the damage - or how complicated the fix - until you inspect it.

2) The sensor itself may be faulty. If you rule out the faulty connection hypothesis (above), it is likely the sensor itself that will need to be replaced. Not sure if AutoZone handles a replacement part for this. A Ford dealer surely will, but the cost will be higher - likely $75 or so for each sensor (and each wheel has a separate sensor).

Here is a good diagram of the sensor (for a 2004 Mustang GT rear sensor)...

Good Luck...
