what tool are you using to try and remove the sensor?
They make special sockets that are open on one side to allow the wire to hang out the side so you can use a socket wrench or breaker bar to get it loose.
Also, it you can't get a breaker bar in there but you can get a regular socket wrench onto the socket, you can use a hammer to smack the handle of the socket wrench a couple of times. Like an impact gun the "shock" will break the O2 sensor loose.
Oh, and LEFT LOOSEY, Righty tighty.
Are you certain it's the O2 sensor itself and not just the wires/harness?

Idle issue could be your IAC.
Moonshine..WD ***** Liquid Wrench is much better
OP ..Not sure if this would help your case but did my buddies Mustang, but get car up to normal running temp then try to remove O2 sensor while pipe is kinda hot.Becareful not to get burned.
We did this with my buddies Mustang using liquid wrench and a breaker bar .
He spayed liquid wrench on O2 sensor let it sit for about 10-20 mins started car got pipes hot (smoked alittle do to LW) then when they got hot used a breaker bar with special O2 socket (looks like a crows foot socket) and they came loose no problem.
The heat \ LW helps loosen them rusty O2 up.
