I have had great experience at BC AUTO with Darrin and Alan at DirtyDog they know their stuff. I bought a REVMAX converter. Those guys are reasonbly priced and build some really nice converters. I got my single clutch with all the goodies for 400 bucks and it works real well so far.

I might just go with new hampton...its $601 and comes with pretty much everything i need for my application. A lot of companies seem to use them. I can't seem to find people with them on here but they seem like a reputable company.

Don't cheap out on a converter. Not saying New Hampton is junk (I've never heard of them) I'm just saying don't be cheap. Research them more and find people who have their converters. Buying a converter and then have it crap out on you would suck AND cost you more in the end.

I have been running a Single Disc BC Auto lock up 3500 stall in my car for 3 years now, my car is seeing some good power/tq and it is holding up great (knock on wood), Darrin in the man very helpful and knowledgable

Sorry just realized new hampton is not really the company name, its actally precision of new hampton which people seem to like. I've seen precisions name around, they actually custom made a converter for leno's jet car or somethin. www.gopnh.com is the link if anyone cares.

That sounds a little better. I've heard of precision, altho i always thought they were far more expensive then that. I still recommend a dirty dog tho . lol

Ya Precision Industries converter are going to be much more than $601. I think when I called them they were in the $800-900 range.

Alan at dirty dog makes a solid converter for these cars, just be prepared to wait a small eternity when you order anything from him. Circle D (what Darrin @ BC Auto sells) and Lenny @ Ultimate converter concepts also make outstanding converters. PI seems to be a mixed bag

Precision Industries is different than Precision of New Hampton, sorry i wasnt clear with that. PI is more expensive yes, precision of new hampton was 601 and it comes with triple disc lock up(which is more expensive on some models from other companies), billet steel cover(another add on for some companies costing more) furnace brazed like the rest, anti balloon plates, hardened turbine splines, high performance stators...this is all included in the 601 price. This place is a torque converter company, I cant see getting a converter from here thats gonna suck lol the place only does converters! And its a big company that a lot of smaller companies use. I dont know exactly why they arent popular or more well known but maybe ill give it a shot. Its not even just the price thats leaning me towards them, the fact that they make converters all day is a good reason to use them
