This place is a torque converter company, I cant see getting a converter from here thats gonna suck lol the place only does converters! And its a big company that a lot of smaller companies use. I dont know exactly why they arent popular or more well known but maybe ill give it a shot. Its not even just the price thats leaning me towards them, the fact that they make converters all day is a good reason to use them
Let us know how it goes. It would be nice to have another decent alternative for converters on these cars. I'm not sure why they feel a triple disc lockup is warranted in your case, but as long as it works properly, it won't be a bad thing.

Alan at Dirty Dog specializes in converters. Like said above Circle D makes a solid converter. Sounds like it's a price deal to me lol

Either way you'll really like a converter. Gets the car off the line much better.

Well i wont deny saving 150-200 bucks is nice lol...especially when i'm about to dump about 5 grand into my car between the heads/cams/converter and installation/tune. i dont doubt dirty dogs rep at all, people love his stuff. Only problem is, i've heard on here and elsewhere that he isnt quick to ship and i really wanna get my car in the shop asap. But if i'm getting what everyone else is for cheaper, i dont know what the difference is. I guess i'll find out. They have a performance warranty if it sucks so i can always send it back.

That's interesting that Alan has a rep of being slow at shipping the converters out. I know he built mine when I ordered it, not an off the shelf one. I guess it did take a while but that was because one of his machines broke.

I know of a couple people that have waited over 2 months. I waited 45 days for my parts from him, and it wasn't because of broken machinery. I won't get into the specifics about my dealings with Alan on a public forum.

Got ya, yea i really cant afford to wait till the end of summer, my plan was to have it done before the mid of june. Precision of new hampton said they will make it and ship no more than 2 days after i order it. Seems like good customer service to me. I'll post a thread once i get everythig done and let you guys know if its a quality converter.

Now i need to decide whether to go with single or triple disc. Some people are saying just go with triple and dont worry about anything else and others are saying do single if its n/a. PI said triple disc is really only necessary if you want to lock up at WOT. My car will possibly see a supercharger in the future but PI said even with a blower, single disc is still fine. Any input? I'm lost on this.

Most guys have a single disc and almost every single one is locked in at least 3rd gear at WOT. A single disc can be built to hold 500+ fully locked from what I understand. Much above that, yes a triple is in order.
