Default Do I need to replace my serpentine belt?

I see from googling that the 4.6 SOHC appears to be an interference design engine. My 2002 GT I bought has 140K miles on it - do I need to replace the belt to be safe? how about the tensioner, could a worn tensioner be as bad as a worn belt? thanks for your thoughts!
