Yes it makes a huge difference. The gear selection is more positive and accurate. Besides it being shorter, it provides a quicker transition between the gears. The shifter internals typically have more metal components compared to factory shifter plastic parts.

Always a good purchase!!

A STS is a nice upgrade, but you can still bang gears with the factory shifter. I like my MGW shifter. It all comes down to opportunity cost. Could you do something that provides better improvement if you don't buy an STS???
That is what you have to decide for yourself.

If you have very limited funds, I would probably invest the money on a different mod(like gears).

I will be ordering a MGW in the next few weeks. I can't wait. Just gotta wait 5 more weeks...or 4 weeks and 2 days now. Then my summer classes are over and the modding begins

Absolutely. I have a freind who has a 2000 GT and he replaced his shifter with a PRO-5.0 and car shifts like butter. See the link below.

Hey, I'm thinking of a STS myself. What I do not want is vibration and noise from the shifter. I have heard of this happening. In saying that I'm sure one is better than the other when it comes to vibration noise. Is what I heard true? Is the MGW a quiet unit?
