How long does it take computer to re learn
Just curious I have been having an on going problem with a lean code P2270 on bank 1 sensor 2 after an off road x pipe install for months now. I finally found a leak in the factory weld and had it re welded on monday but the light would keep coming back after 2 key cycles for the last few days. And I was begining to think it was'nt the problem. Then on my way to work it came on but on my way home it went out ? So I was wondering if there was a method to the madness and it just takes the computer a little time to relearn that everythings ok ?? In the past when it came on it stayed on and never went out. This is the first time it went on its own without me clearing the code. Just curious if this was normal . Thanks

Yeah I did that on Wed. and the CEL would still come on , that's why I was thinking maybe the computer was hanging on to the code . Just went and hooked the scan tool up and the code was still there and it said MIL status on but the light is off ??? The light still works cause when the key is on accessories it lights up.

After you install an O/R pipe youre going to get CELs from your car unless you either install some MIL's or shut off the rear O2 sensors with a handheld tuner. Did you do either of those or did you just screw in the rear O2 sensors into the mid pipe?

I have mil's , extensions , new gasket , replaced driver side studs etc.... found out the weld on the passenger side down tube had a small hole causing an exhaust leak . Had that fixed but couldn't get the light to stay off no matter how many times I cleared it since Monday. Friday afternoon the CEL finally went off by itself , but for some reason the code was still stored in the computer ??? So just wanted to know if it takes the computer time to re adjust after running lean for so long . And if the light went out why would the code still be stored ??
