Default iac mod

Hey guys. Does this look correct? The cars idle dropped to 200 rpm and back up to like 500-600 rpm... shouldn't it be idling around 800 at least? any suggestions? reset battery? drill the other side a bit bigger?

When I'm coming to a stop the car idles at 1200 rpm then it drops down to 200 rpm for a few seconds and goes back up to 600 rpm. Car temp gauge seems a bit higher then usual.

and this is what it looked like what i bought the gasket. I used the metal one and the stock gasket..unless i have to port the other 2 black ones the same size as the metal one and use it on both sides..

I just ported the 2 black gaskets the same size as the metal one and used them on each side of the iac and the car couldn't stop misfiring at idle LOL

IIRC people where doing this to fix the hanging idle these cars have. There was a sticky rolling around a long time (could still be up there... i'm to lazy to look) about how to do it.

I felt slightly motivated... here you go LINK

thanks very similar to what i did, but still upset how the car isn't idling correctly.

Thought about this. It will effect your a/f ratio. Use at your own risk!

You can also put a plug in the tube. Much easier to install/remove.

With both mods, you will hear a loud 'hissing' noise. My cel came on quick like when I did it. Idle still hanging. Annoying. Real annoying.

did you try cliffyk's method mentioned in that link?? shouldn't affect AFR, seeing as how you're not really restricting airflow into the intake manifold..
