I found a 1996 mustang gt for sale with only 85k, the guy says it's from florida, and therefore has no rust. it needs "exhuast header gaskets", but besides that is fine. He wants $3500. Does anyone know how hard it is to replace "exhaust header gaskets"? I imagine it's just pulling off the exhaust at the header, putting in a new gasket, and bolting the exhaust back on.....? also anything specific I should look at/for when looking at this car before I buy it? any advice will help me!

also says it has an off road x pipe, and ceramic short tube headers, so I'm afraid it my not be inspect able because of the off road x pipe, not sure about the legality of the headers

Welcome to MF.Take Tim's advice and get a carfax.Price doesn't sound too bad though.

 

As far as the off road pipe and inspections just get hi flow cats welded in. That's what I did on my of road pipe I went with pypes hi flow cats.

 

price isnt bad but you could probably find one around you for the same price of you going all the way down to florida from maine to get it, or having the car shipped to you
