Anyone ever use a fender roller?
#13
So I understand that rolling the fenders is going to save from tearing up my tires, but what's going to save my fenders from getting beat up after there rolled, and the tire continues to hit the fender once in a while? I mean I'm not adding any extra clearance, just putting a blunt point on my fender instead of a sharp one, correct?
Speaking of, maybe I should raise the rear back up just a tad? Methods for that?
BTW, maybe I could work something out to use my 'ol buddy 99 GT vert's roller. I've got some jobs up around your area.

Take a look at your front fenders now and run your hand up along the under side..... See how far the metal travels inward and that it doesn't go up (at least not al the way around). My fender has 1/4" (at most) and is curled back up ward like a "U" to add MUCH clearance to the tires. This also avoids the sharp edges of the fender cutting the tires.
If you are not carefull, you WILL crack the paint and have a mess on your hands. If you are not comfortable doing such things, find someone at a body shop and pay them to do it.

You ARE adding clearance... that is the point

Thanks again for the input all.

Sorry to bring this back up, but my newbie mind needs to know.
The largest tire's for 18x10 wheels that I've seen in package deals are 285's. will these fit without rolling the fenders and with a 2" drop?
By the way, why do they match 325's with 17x10.5, and 285's with 18x10? Seems like a big difference for 1/2" difference in wheel width.
Thanks again,
Ron

They make 295's, 305's, and 315's for 18x 10 wheels. What you have to remember is that sizes vary. Not all 285's are the same for instance. So when they say a 285 for a 10" wheel, that's just a generalization. My buddy runs 315 Toyo's on a 18X10 wheel, and they fit fine with no rubbing issues either.

I have 18X10 wheels in the rear lowered on H&R supersports and my 295/35/18 BFG KDW's rub bad on the right rear side. I took out a good strip of rubber before I realized that there was an issue. I have yet to roll the fender but I think that is the next step I will need to take unless I change springs. My .02
