Default My Purchase / Build Thread!

1 Month Ago I purchased a 2001 Mustang GT KB Supercharged 1.7L

I purchased the car as follows:

5spd with Steeda Shart Throw
Kenne Bell 1.7L @ 7psi (I have the 9psi pulley) non-intercooled
Kenne Bell Boost a Pump
Snow Performance Methanol Injection (Stg. 1)
BBK CAI
BBK Off-Road x-pipe
BBK Shorty Headers
Flowmaster 40s Exhaust
Ford Racing 36lb Injectors
Professional Products 75mm Throttle Body
Glowshift Wideband a/f and Boost guages

Car was "Pro-Tuned" to 307whp and 317wtq, running super rich all the way through the RPMs. I have since switched back to the Kenne-Bell Chip, discontinued the Methanol for now, and the car runs much better. Planning a protune soon, found a place, Twisted Innovations in Ashtabula Ohio. But I want advice!

Currently the Car has P1000 code coming up on my SCT, and I found a series of steps that should get rid of it. Anyone have any light to shed on this issue?

Also, I live in PA, and there is emission testing. The car is past due, and I need to add cats. Will the be detrimental to the KB Chip Tuning? And will I lose a whole lot of power? I have the stock H-Pipe on my deck. I could use it, or order a High-Flow Catted BBK X-PIPE... ?? I'm almost sure I just have to have no codes and visually obvious cats so pass inspection.

As soon as the inspection is sorted out, I am looking to get the protune. Now, I have the 9psi pulley, and was thinking of upping the boost once the methanol injection is added? Input would be much appreciated!!!

Also, anyone have Ballpark numbers for what power I should expect from such a setup? Thanks!!!!

I am new to Mustangs, and bigger engines. I sold off my 301WHP Subaru for this, and I LOVE my mustang so much more.

Seriously only 307 rwhp??? When you say it's running super rich boy you must really mean it.

First off, welcome to our section!

Start off with throwing the stock h pipe back on for emissions and get that out of the way. Then swap everything back over. I think instead of getting a new catted x you should invest in longtube headers and sell your shorties and o/r x and get the longtubes with a catted x/h. From there, get the 9psi pulley on there and hook the methanol back up and you should really be fine. And as far as a tuner goes, I'd give Street Lethal performance a call. They are in edinburg, PA and they do great work. Do awesome custom fab work and everything.

With all of that, you should be well on your way to upper 3xxrwhp range. I'd guess above 370rwhp if I had to.

P1000 is just a code saying your computer has been cleared recently and you have to drive the car more until it's ready to be read. Usually it's 50-100 miles after the computer has been cleared until it's ready. So drive it and then report back if a cel comes on.

I run a O/R H all the time and since i have my car dyno tuned I pass emissions with no cats and no rear 02 sensors. And I would highly recommend looking into a professional dyno tune instead of just using KB's chip. You should easily be at 380 rwhp with a good tune.

He's talking about getting a tune in Ohio so I figure he is in western PA.

I'm in southwestern just south of Pittsburgh. They check for cats here and check for obd codes, and right now I'd fail on both parts . And I drove many miles with the p1000 code on and it won't go away :/
