Default Spark Plug blowout Steel insert?

I am looking at a 2001 Roush mustang, it had a spark plug blow out and a steeel plug incert was put in. will it evently shoot the sprak plug out again and need the head replaced. so it had a helicoil down then? is this a big deal? like the threads are damaged and you must replace the head.

There are 5 difference steel inserts I have seen for these motors and 3 of them suck.

If indeed it was a sleeve insert (Timsert or similar), and not a Helicoil or one of the Helicoil clones, I would be more concerned about the other 7 than the one that blew out and was repaired.

I did the steel insert from Autozone, you ream out the old damaged threads to a larger size, cut threads into it, then threads in the insert, then put a toll on top of the insert and hit it with a hammer to expand teeth in the top of the insert.

Thats one of the type that always come back out later on...............

Timesert is the only steel brand that always works, but they are frickin expensive.

Uhh i paid $30 for mine and its worked for 10k+ miles maybe longer.

It was a pain in the *** because 4Vs have tapered seats the whole way down to where the plug sits and i had to jimmy rig another seat so the sparkplug wouldn't keep threading. I don't think you'll have that problem.

Not as expensive as having heads re-done and the countless other costs of burping up a plug
