It was an auto bc my wife cant drive a manual and my left leg is shot. the reason we dont have it anymore is bc we had 3 coupes at the time and my stang was paid off and we had another baby on the way so the financed GTO had to go sadly for something with more room and 4 doors. Other than that we regret that it had to go til this day and both me and my wife miss it we never had an issue with it and she liked how the *** end drops/preloads when you put it in drive. it got traded for this. same ls2 more room heavier body and versatility. But if it wasnt for the pregnancy we would have definately kept it no doubt. it had more rear seat room than my mark 8 and I see your not a big auto guy but the 06 had an upraded auto vs the 04 dont know the specifics but the trannys were not the same out of all the three years of production here in the states.

Why you switch to the mustang?

i ended up buying a 6 speed duramax after that. then broke my neck and couldnt drive a manual anymore so a i ran across a one owner, low milage 01 gt while i was searching for a auto camaro. long doors make it easy to pull my cair into the car. im like you, not a one brand person. i enjoy and respect any worthy car. i do prefer a big 3 vehicle though.

And if I get one it sure as **** won't be a A4...I refust to own a "muscle car" that is an automatic unless I am die-hard drag racer (which I'm not).

For $15-$20K...you can find both Mach's and GTO's with similar miles and mods...but the GTO will be making more power. It will prob come down to how I like driving one and what I can find. Ideally I would like to do a straight trade for the GTO and not loose out on any money whether it be private part or dealer.

Xemeth: Wasn't it you that put an LS into a mustang?? Is the LS2 and the added price for the 05/06 really worth it? I would rather the dual exhaust bumper and ram air hood...other than that the power diff between the LS1 and LS2 is???

sn95 331 GT yellow: Everything is for sale for the right price (I hate typing your sn btw...)lol
Yeah, that's me. Mines an LSX, LS1 shortblock, aftermarket LS6 ported heads, LS6 intake, and a TSP cam.

The LS1 is a 5.7 350hp. The LS2 is a 6.0 400 HP. I'd personally go LS2 if you can find one at a good price. It has a 4.00" bore, so you can put L92 heads (which are dirt cheap for stock heads) that flow better than most aftermarket ported 241 or 243 (LS1/6 heads). They flow over 300cfm bone stock. If I had known the bore differences before I bought my motor, I would have found a 6.0 or bigger (for the 4.00" bore).
