it really depends on what type of setup you are going for? Is this car a daily or are you planning on making it a track car? That will depend on what type of rear and setup you go with. And IMHO its a no brainer to put ARP head studs, side bolts, cam bolts, and crank bolt. Why build a motor with that type of money and skimp out on $400?

Its not going to be a daily driver but it will be driven at least on the weekends. I want to be able to take it to the strip when I find one near me.

Totally agree with 97, there's no point in building a motor and not going with ARP hardware

My rear consits of Moser 31's, Eaton Detroit Tru Trac, 3.73s, Trickflow girdle and I love it. Its not the best for cornering however, which is why I asked what your plans with the car were.

Guys tend to really like going with the track lock with carbon clutches as sn95 331 stated

Why does trickflow not make heads for the 4V?! Are MMR alright for their stage 2 heads?

Yeah, they just take pi heads and port them to their stage 2 specs. I run their stage 3 and have zero complaints
