My neighbor has a carb on his Gt. When I first heard it run after he finally pulled it out of the garage I didnt think it was a 4.6 in it so I asked him "what have you put in there" and he said "a 4.6" and he showed me its a 4.6 with heads, cam, turbo and its carbed. I dont know all of his specifics and he hasnt had it dynoed but that car sounds damn good and it just makes the motor sound altogether different. He said he best thing was going carbed and ditching the injectors and he said just changing out the jets is a Hell of alot cheaper than switching out injectors.
Carb is simpler to tune and you can make more power with a carb I'm pretty sure.
From what I seen it slows them down my buddy carbed is 01 cobra w/ fr500 heads and cams and 5.0 stroker when we raced I walked him in my brothers exhaust only 99 cobra
and once again, i'm with wannabe. this is a cool *** biuld and it does sound very healthy. but i'd have to say a PROPERLY equipped efi setup will outperform a carb in driveability and mpg's, and either come close or make more power.
