Default Recent Purchases Thread

We all love ordering new parts, waiting for the big brown/purple/blue Santa to arrive with our packages like a little kid on Christmas morning. So, why not have a thread dedicated to discussing our recent purchases? I started this thread on my quad forum and it got really popular and figured it'd probably be no different here.

This is my latest order from American Muscle.

I've also got my smoked tail lights and Magnapacks coming in on a separate order. Then I'm going down to the muffler shop in the morning to pick out some tips to take to the fab shop and will be getting them p/c'd a semi-gloss black.

Why did you buy a recalibration tool?

Should have just gotten a handheld

I was told I would need it. And what handheld are you referring to? It's not too late to cancel the speedo recal.

You dont need a speedo recalibrator it can be corrected with a handheld tuner and whenever you get deep into mods blower or turbo you will need a handheld tuner to get your dyno tune done. You can get them new for close to $400 or you can get them used for as low as $150 and you want one thats used and unlocked/unmarried from the sellers car from there its all plug and play. You can find them on craigslist or also in the classifieds on different forums including this forum. As far as the technical side of what tuners do take a min to read through this link. http://www.americanmuscle.com/tuner-differences.html as far as diablo or sct ive had both and both were used no complaints about either. The main thing is when you want to get a dyno tune they will either use sct software or diablo and that should be the deciding factor on which to go with you would have to ask around your local area performance shops to see if they use diablo or sct

I'm gonna pull off my kick panel tomorrow and check out the ECU and see if I can't identify anything. Still need to see if the car has actually been tuned or not. I'm only assuming it has since the previous owner put the SCT badge on the back... Either way, the speedo recal is getting sent back (just checked and the order already shipped).

Well good job for starting the thread since you may have not known about this until you hooked up the recal tool. Heres my recent purchase I havent even had it for a week. 96 SVT with Vortech V2 and aftercooler.
