04 mustang gt broken crank bolt
#23
Whats done is done. Regardless of whether the bolt is or is not correct, or what caused the bolt to break, the damage is done. Lets get it fixed.
I feel so bad for you. I absolutely hate it when something that seems so simple turns into a freaking nightmare. It happens to the best of us. Getting the UDP's on and you back on the road should be #1 priority.
Xx04StangGTxX, if you think drilling bolt out (most bolts are hard as **** and very hard to keep centered) and using an extractor isn't going to work or beyond your capabilities, you might have to bite the bullet on this one and take to a shop. You definitely don't want to make it any worse. Go to my previous reply (page 1) and follow instructions on posting pictures to the forum. Its easy. Some pictures might help.

Hmm nope don't think so the engine and te whole car it's self has been bone stock until I bought it. The car only has 60,000 miles on it not really even broken in so Theirs no need for the balancer to be replaced.

I'm with MyGt03 on this one.
Regardless of how you got here, the task now is to fix it. I agree that biting the bullet and taking it to a shop to have it fixed is probably the way to go.
I don't think anyone here is against you. To the contrary, I think we would all like to help you. It is important at this point to separate personal emotions from the task at hand. That bolt needs to come out of the crank. If you don't have the work space and tools required, you will need to enlist the help of a professional.
I haven't seen anything out of line from SteedaBrandon on this forum yet. Fact finding is the first step in figuring out what happened.

You were sent the correct bolt. I'm sorry that you are having so much trouble with the installation. You've received some great advice from others on this thread giving you some options of how to proceed from here on out.
