First performance mods.
So I just recently bought a 2000 Mustang GT and for the first performance mods I was thinking of getting were the 4.10 gears and bearings then get a tuner after. I was wondering if this would give me a good amount of power for my money? I originally wanted to get a new exhaust but I don't think that would make much difference so I did some research and everyone seems to be very well satisfied, if not more after buying the 4.10 gears.

Since this will be your 1st mod the best bang for the buck would most def be gears. Tuner would be a good buy also but I would suggest going with some type of after market catback.

I personally would get the catback 1st. Not that exspensive and you'll fall in love with your car more than you have now. Next gears, tuner and a Short Throw Shifter. GL!

Get a catback first but check out you tube for videos of different exhaust,to find the sound you want. Then drop the 4.10's in for that instant seat of the pants thrill.I'm not sure how much a tuner will do for a stock engine but these guys on here will.

Well, you need to correct the speedo when you install the 4.10s, so you might want to do the gear AND tuner at the same time. 4.10s with UPR control arms and sticky tires will provide a DRAMATIC improvement in acceleration!

Thanks! I was actually liking the sound of the SLP Loudmouth or the SSS Adrenaline. I'm hearing a little bit of humming coming from the rear end so I'm thinking my bearings might be bad but I'm not sure, so I might have to go with the gears and the ring and pinion kit for now.

most people are gonna come in here and say they hate SLP Loudmouth, i personally loved the sound with the stock H pipe, never heard it with an different mid pipe tho. and as UPRSharad said u might wanna buy the tuner first or get them both at the same time because your speedo is gonna be off after the gears and the tuner will correct it for you

I was thinking of just going with the H-pipe. I like the H-pipe sound a lot better than the X-pipes anyways. And I think I'm gonna get this kit since it comes with everything I need and it seems like I'll be saving a lot more money this way instead of getting them separate http://www.americanmuscle.com/tuner-...it-9904gt.html.
