when i put my turbo kit on i just pulled my oil pan off and welded a an fitting on to it made it alot easier not having to worry about stripping out the threads

That definitely seems like an easier route in the long run. If you tapped the pan while it was still on, wouldn't it risk getting shavings in the engine?

U just run oil to drain them out, that plus the oil filter and pickip screen will do the rest of the job.

I'm definitely not pulling my K member just to weld a bung on my oil pan...lol

Ah I see. I didn't think about pulling the Kmember either. I'm really just going to shop hard for a V3 I think.

This^, and when I put the new oil in I only ran it about 200 miles and changed it to confirm that there wasnt much of any metal shavings in there.

And if you grease the tools when you are tapping the pan the grease catches the majority of the shavings.

One good trick I learned is to put grease on the tap and it collects most of the shavings.

Is there any way to get my car to run...even just a little before I take it to the tuner so that I can work out any potential bugs? fuel leaks, oil leaks, vacuum leaks etc.

i put a tubular k member in mine so it was already out.

and on the starting the car before the tune just call the tuner and have him send you a can tune just to get an idea if you are having issues
