I don't have air tools but I did them by hand knock knock the star pattern. I have spacers in the rear. Since I DD my car would the spacers add stress causing them to warp?

this^, over heating rotors will cause warping and cracking.
on the subject of not torquing the wheel properly, i never seen it happen personally but can see it happening. i seen a wheel snap a hub in half while bailing hay because of a couple loose lug bolts

Yup, I always carry my torque wrench with me if a tire shop is removing any of my wheels. They NEVER get them torqued properly.

Be very careful not to get the brakes real hot and hold the brakes on at a stop light. By leaving the pads clamped onto one spot on the hot rotors, the rate of cooling will be radically different where the pads are still in contact. It requires some effort to generate that much heat in the rotors, but a high speed stop can do it.
