OP,
I have the AM dark smoked lights on my car, but as mentioned above, the light output is reduced a lot. None of the upgrade bulbs(SilverStarUltras were best) added enough light to be safe at night down dark country roads. I ended up with DDM HID 55w to get light output back close to the factory lights. Important note: my Bullitt has no fog lights to supplement light output.

Yes, I would do this again. The dark smoked lights look great and the HID kit is easy and cheap to install.

Note: my AM headlights have weathered and need replaced after about 3.5 years. No water leakage issues.

You'll need HID's. Go with 4500K

Go with HIDs if you're going very dark.. Personally I did mine myself with VHT.. if you have a steady hand, any spray skills and can keep the coverage even you will save a considerable amount of money and can get the shade exactly to your liking..

Yup. Leave halos to the VW punks.

I think dark tinted headlights are pretty silly because:

1. They're a fad.

2. Everyone has them, so they're not unique.

3. They give your Mustang that high school ricer look preferred by 8 out of 10 police officers looking for a car to pull over.

4. They allow you to drive your badass 600 horsepower machine at a maximum of 40MPH after dark.
