Default thoughts on bbk 78mm tb

I'm looking to swap my tb and plenum and from the prices I'm seeing I don't know if I shoild go with bbk 78mm or if I would be better off spending a little extra and getting something like a professional products plenum and a 75mm tb

A 70mm tb and plenum is as large as you need to go but is the 78mm is cheap, its not going to hurt to go bigger. I had the same 78mm and liked it. Really, the plenum outlet is the bottle neck.

the prices on some of the 75mm setups is comprable to the bbk unless I want to go polished then its 345 but for just a regular set up I can get bbk for 265 or professional product brand plenum and 75mm tb for 180 used without gaskets or 255 new

I was going to go with a 70mm, but found a nice used BBK 78mm for a really good price. Install was pretty straight forward, and the gains are minimal. It takes a little work getting the cold air intake to fit on the 78mm, but it'll work.

I don't have an issues with BBK TBs, I have one and it was on my old stock 4v motor when I purchased the motor used many years ago, the motor is long gone but i still use the TB and have had zero issues with it, who knows the mileage on it.

I found a Trick Flow 75MM on EBay thru summit for 169.00, and C&L Performance in Huntsville has their plenums for sale for 119.00 shipped. Can't say much as I haven't put it on yet due to surgery, but it's well made. Just gotta shop around.

I am running the BBK and love it.

Sure 78mm may be a little big at first but it give you room to grow for when you do more upgrades and its a one piece design which I like.

I would stay away from ANYTHING Professional Products as from my own personal expierence it is junk...I bought their typhoon intake for my 04 GT and had to do ALOT of modications to make it fit as it didn't even fit on my cylinder heads out of the box.

I eventually sold it....bought their Throttle body for my fox body and had lots of issues with it as well out of the box. I had to take off the blade itself and sand down the inside just so the throttle plate wouldn't stick.
