They are both evenly priced and seem to have great reviews. AM also has a Spec ST 2 for ten bucks cheaper but I had a bad experince with that clutch so I'm staying away. I'm looking to spend no more than 400 bucks for one, so if you guys know of any other clutch that's better than these two (for that price) let me know. Also what would be a fair price for a clutch install? Thxs
I think you'll be really happy with the Mach 500 clutch from Exedy. They don't have a huge name in the Mustang market from 04-down, but they make a ridiculously nice product and made a huge splash into the Muscle Car world. Vaughn Gittin Jr. uses them on his drift cars and they also sponsor quite a few different NMRA track cars that go pretty fast!

The Exedy Mach 500 Clutch holds a ton of torque (like 500-525 at the wheels) and takes serious abuse! However, the clutch itself isn't ridiculous to drive on the street. It has a really decent pedal feel and grabs/bites hard when you need it to.

Check out the video:

We've had Exedy clutches in 4 different Project Cars now and every time we're really happy that we went that route. Just make sure that you give it the proper break-in/heat cycle period and go easy on it for at least 250 miles.

What are you doing for flywheel? Just resurfacing the stock one?

Hopefully this helps! You did it at a perfect time since everything is ripped apart. Let us know if there's absolutely anything you need in the meantime. Good luck! Make sure to post up and tell us what you think about it!

Hey thanks Chris. I went with the Exedy 500 clutch. I also bought the Ford Racing pilot and throw out bearing from you guys. Thanks!
