Default 03 Mach 1 oil pressure problem

Could anyone advise me of an oil pressure droppage after the motor warms up? It only drops when idling, at 1400 RPM oil pressure shows normal

Do you have numbers?

The shop manual o/p spec is 138 to 310 kP (20 to 45 psi), engine hot, at 1500 rpm. At idle (hot engine) 10 to 15 psi would be expected and normal...

The factory gauge is just an analog "idiot light"", if the oil pressure is more than 6 psi the indicator will be in the middle of the sweep, if less than that it will indicate "zero". When you say it drops at idle, do you mean "drops" all the way?

If so, and the engine runs OK, then the oil pressure switch is probably bad--they are just $12 or $13 at any FLAPS...
