Default Gauge cluster swap

Hi guys -
My 96 GT convertible has a gauge cluster problem.. It appears that the cluster needs replacement. I have acquired a replacement used cluster and swapping it out is really not an issue... My question is whether or not I am able to swap out the speedometer from the current cluster into the replacement unit? The car only has 66k miles on it whereas the replacement cluster shows 177k. If the swap is possible - is it a difficult process? Are there any tricks that I should be aware of?
I wanted to find out before I try to take it apart and then end up needing to find another replacement.

Thanks in advance for your help.
