CEL after intake replacement.
So today I changed from a crappy leaking doorman intake to a ford performance intake. CEL is on and OBDII is giving me the P1000: engine cycle not complete and EGR high voltage, everything is connected properly, vacume-elctrical coneters etc:, and I didnt have this problem before.. Any thoughts?
P1000 is just telling you that not all sensors have done a drive cycle meaning if you were to go to get smogged, you would fail until all sensors have reported back as OK. This is normal if you recently cleared the codes.
EGR high voltage is what OBDII code? That might just be that the car is relearning its idle. Normally when you disconnect the battery and/or change intake parts you need the car to relearn it's fuel trim Excess fuel during this process might trip some codes.
Clear the codes again. Now, start the car and let it idle until it warms up. Then if you are an Automatic, Put it in D (with your foot on the brake) for one minute. Then put it back into park for one minute and then put the AC on for one minute at full blast (MAX AC fan on high). Then you should be set on the idle. If you are a manual you can simply skip the D step and just put the A/C on while idling.

You do not need to do all that for the idle learn. You only need to run it in park till it
warms up to learn the high idle, and run hot idle trim values. When you turn on the
A/C, there is a calculated increase in +trim based on the learned base values, same
when going into drive. You ONLY need to do the relearn of the BASE values. I already
have a post here with the instructions, which is done with the Ford scan tool, and
there is no requirement to run A/C or in gear, BECAUSE the trim is increased
automatically based on the learned values.
