Haha! You do know that the person you quoted is pictured in his avitar. I'm sure he is well aware of the type of blower on his racer.

I heard of that too, but it's another long list of 'I know someone who...' I'm still waiting for someone to actually post some dyno numbers doing it. I certainly know what it's capable of but I'm waiting patiently for someone to do it and post the numbers.
My car is going to the shop this weekend to get forged internals and a whole bunch of other goodies. I have a custom 8 rib pully set up with a 2.8" pully going on. I will post dyno numbers hopefully by the end of the month.

I anxiously await that dyno chart. I'm dying to see what that baby is capable of...

EDIT - did you see my post on the new Art Carr Trans? Sounds like your car may be a candidate????

Ok, what is so much better (functionality wise) on the Saleen than the Kenne Bell or Roush?

Just curious since it is the #1 vote getter versus the other two.

Thx,

Mike
The Saleen is more efficient because it incorporates an inverted design, allowing for efficient, long intake runners. It also has a dual heat exchanger system. It is a little more efficient than the KB, but it is a lot more efficient than the Roush. The Roush blower is a roots blower, and builds heat a lot faster than the screws.
Ah Ha! Yes longer runners means more low end torque--same principle used on "old fashioned" dual plane intake manifolds (w carbs).

That's a big + for the Saleen!

Thx,

Mike

I am also looking for the right lung to add. I have decided on eather the Roush or the Magnacharger. My install will be a bit tricky though because the dealer installed a CDC shaker hood scoop. I am going to try to reinstall it over the supercharger so my biggest concern is WHICH SUPERCHARGER IS LOWEST TO THE ENGINE? If I can find one that is not much higher than the stock manifold I think it will work. The two I mentioned seem to be the runners-up. For those of you centrifugal guys/gals out there I am dead set on positive displacement and you can't talk me out of it noting that there is a pickture of a procharger and shaker set up somewhere out there on the web.

So if you want a PD blower, why are you specifically picking the two most non upgradable most outdated technology blowers on the market?
Don has a shaker hood scoop setup under his KB twin screw blower. Fits fine.

The whipple HO kit was produced by whipple AND Ford Racing. This kit puts 475+ to the wheels. If Ford racing is willing to put the 3v engine through that kind of power, I think that this 400-450RWHP "limit" in everybodies mind is horse pucky. I voted for the whipple because 475 at the wheels is KICK ***!!
+1

Thats what will be going into my stang soon.

I have a Roush Stang, but a saleen SC in it. Much better technology, easily upgradeable, etc... I am only running 4psi, right now, and I am at 400, but when I get back from my trip, i am getting the pulley to take it up another notch.

I garuntee you that the whipple standard kit will NOT make 475+ RWHP. No way, no how. Please remember to read the fineprint when you are looking at any s/c manufacturer claims. You can usually easily find the part that relates to 'can' and 'capable of'. Ford is well aware of the limits of the internals in the GT and would no way on earth sell a kit that made that kind of power out of the box. If you think the 450 rwhp limit is puckey and you think HP is kick ***, then simply make a pulley swap and you can make over 500 rwhp on ANY of the s/c out there. They are all capable of it easily...but let's see how long it would last...

Yep!

OK- why is it that if you buy a Saleen S/C and throw it on your GT, you make 400 hp, but if it comes on the ACTUAL Saleen stang, you get a claimed 435 hp?

Is it the tuning? Is there something else Saleen does to the motors? Exhaust?

I am going with the Saleen S/C, but also plan on throwing on a set of Long tube headers, and a Violator Exhaust. Will that get to 435 hp? Or possibly 450 with a correct tune?

Or should I just bump up the boost to 5 psi and add an exhaust?
