I have an '05 gt. The fail safe mode has activated twice on my '05. Once at 9500 miles, and now again at 12,200 miles. The dealer ran daignostic the first time and said test came back clean. Car is at dealer again for the same problem but the dealer has already advised that if the problem can't be replicated they can't fix it. When the fail safe mod eactivates the vehicle bogs down, a/c shuts off and car looses power. You can let it set for 10-15 minutes and it will run normal. Dealer says its probably not a problem...just a "glitch in the computer". Has anyone else had any problems or any suggestions. Thanks for your time. IMO if the cars shuts down there is a problem computer glitch or not there is a problem. I havnt had any issues like that so I cant be much help though.

 

Just got a call from the dealership that is working on my '05 GT. The say that they replaced the throtle body and that should take care of he problem. I'll keep you updated. Thanks for your input.

 

I had the same problem. They replaced the throttle body sensor, hasn't done it since.
