Default Bad Bearing???

Does anybody know if on the two piece driveshaft has a bearing in the middle? The noise I have been hearing from my car kind of sounds like it might be coming from the rear-end but it could also be coming from the driveshaft itself, so it got me wondering if there is a bearing in the middle that could be bad? It makes what I can only descibe as a clicking sound from somewhere center to rear of the car. I had a set of 4:10s installed and about 600 miles later it started. But the preload and everything APPEARS to be right. The only thing I noticed is that you can slide the rear portion of the driveshaft forward (toward the transmission) and backwards about a 1/4 in, which stuck me as odd. I didn't think it should do that. That is why I am asking about a possible bearing issue..Thanks for any inputs.

there is a known issue with the clutchpacks in the limited slip.....don't know if the dealer would be co-operative with yours if that turns out to be the problem since you have had gears done.

Any idea what the sound of the clutchpack problem resembled? I have only had one other type of limited slip and it was an Eaton cone style so now clutchpacks to speak of. So I am not sure if the noise I am hearing could be that or not. I mean it definately is coming from the right part of the car but when I have it up on jack stands or a rack and try to spin the tires and repeat the sound it won't do it. So that is why I am having such a hard time trying to find the problem.

The clutch pack will only make noise when turning. There is a bearing in the middle of the driveshaft to suppot it (like all 2 piece shafts have) and yes there should be movement there as there isn't a slip joint at the transmission.

Well from what I can hear there is no clicking/clunking when turning, so I can probably rule that out. What do you suppose the odds of the bearing in the middle of the driveshaft going bad are? If I go slow enough I can hear the sound and main portion of the clunk I guess you would say. Almost taking something oblonged and rolling it. It is kind of like a slide and then a clunk, and then a slide and a clunk. Like when it hits that same spot every time is when it makes the noise. It is getting really annoying because I can't seem to find anything wrong, but obviously something is not right. I am trying not to just go nuts and but this and try that until I fix it, you know what I mean?
