What benefit does this have for us???

RE: What benefit does this have for us???
There have been several posts about this in the past. Try searching.
In a nutshell:
From the factory the car has a set of butterfly valves (similar to the throttle butterflies in a carb or throttle body) mounted between the intake manifold and the heads. These butterfly valves are closed at low RPM operation, which restricts airflow into the heads. The purpose is to cause turbulence to provide better emissions performance at low-speed operation. The valves automatically open as RPMs climb. They are supposed to be fully open around 2500 RPM.
The downside to this system is that even when "open" the shaft and the edge of the valves impede airflow somewhat.
This kit, like the name implies, removes the butterfly valves completely, eliminating that restriction. The kit MUST be used with an updated tune. The result is that you will see about 10-15 more HP. (If you don't get the tune, you will instead LOOSE power and your check engine light will come on)
This product has been around for a while, from Steeda. However their version is very expensive. Recently Ford has their own version, which is much more economical. I have that exact item on my car, I am very happy with it.

Thanks Crazy Al.
Ford has one, You mean FRPP right?
For some reason I dont have much success with the search, it just frustrates me. Anyway, last question, do you have a ballpark what an install would run? Just to confirm 15hp increase or so?

Yeah, FRPP.
The ones on PMP's web site are the FRPP ones. You can also get them from just about any FRPP dealer, Summit has 'em too... I bought mine from PMP. They were having a sales about a month ago: the FRPP plates SHIPPED for $85. What a steal!
I have heard 10-15 HP. I think your exact gains depends on what other mods you already have. 5.0 Mustangs & Super Fords got 10 HP, and that was on a car with a CAI and shorty headers, but that's also with an old tune. Brent @ Brenspeed confirms 10-15.
The installation is easy. You can do it yourself in less than an hour.
Here's the aforementioned article that explains the mod:

The FRPP show that gaskets DO NOT come with them.
DO you still have the gasket PN's?
Thanks for the Help.
