I also have a new 07 GT (5 SP). I've installed and had the following mods completed so far:

1. Borla Stinger Racing Axle-Backs (awesome - sound like Bassini's).
2. Hurst Pro Shifter (Best shifter on the market for the price).
3. C&L Racer CAI w/SCT X-Cal 2 custom tune by a reputable local tune shop. Overall increase from the CAI & Tune (285 RWHP & 305 FT/lbs Torque).

So far I love all of the mods & based on the research and experts I've talked (Lidio Lacobelli at Alternative for one) the SCT X-Cal 2 is definitely the way to go. Mainly because most (not all) tune shops support it more & have better experience with it. The Diablo is also great but not as tunable as the SCT. And oh, by the way, there is definitely a difference in the FW upgrade for the SCT for the 07 GT. If any one tells you other wise they don't know what they're talking about. The tune shop that did my tune works with SCT all the time and they got the latest update for the 07 from SCT. In some cases (depending on the mods your making in your tune) it probably doesn't make that much of a difference. But I'd rather have my tune done based on the latest update specifically for the 07 (which also includes latest updates for newer products which may not be included in the 06 & earlier updates - that does make a difference).

In any case, I suggest the SCT (even better the new Live Wire though again, some shops may not support it but it is awesome) and do your self a favor & pay the extra money to put your car on a dyno & get a tune specifically for you GT. From what I've been told (even Lidio admitted it) no two are the same stock.

More to come.

Couple more things - definitely for the throttle body. If you want to jack up your new GT you can risk it, but again from what I've been told the gains are not worth the risk. CrazyAl is right - it's best to have a really good tune shop do a custom tune for you if you're going to invest in any major mods & then a new TB might be worth it. I'd invest your money in a more useful way - like the Hurst shifter, a 4.10 rear-end, under-drive pulleys, suspension mods or something like that. Some of my next endeavors that won't require any major (minor for the rear end) mods in your existing tune.

Long tube Headers & off-road/high flow cats are also nice but you most likely won't see a big boost in RWHP or Torque. The stock exhaust system is rated at 425 HP already. But it'll defintiely sound nasty .

welcome
Have a plan. what do you want out of your Mustang? don't spend on items you plan to change in the future. i had eveything wrote down in the order i wanted it done. you choose the time line acording to your budget. i did everything in the first 3000km. I was going to buy shelby but changed mind took the 30 k and spent it on my 07 gt. I have 2 items left 17" slicks for track and new torque converter.

You only have to modify one bracket. I used a grinder and then repainted bracket. It was very simple. K&N put out a kit for the 07 like a week after i installed the 63 kit. But it works.

Yes the difference was noticed the minute i got it off the muffler rack and started it up. I always did like the soung of a Flowmaster 40 series.....for me there is no other way to go.

Well thanks for all the info. I ended up going with the xCal 2 from Brenspeed and i love it. With K&N CAI, Flowmaster 40 Series and tuner it's got me running 13.5's at the track and for now i am satisfied with that.....esp for it being the wife's daily driver. And to not I am still getting 25 miles to the gallon on the highway with cruise set on 75 and about 19 in the city.....depending on how you drive it.
