I WANTED TO KNOW IF THE GEARS IN MY 06 GT WOULD BE THE SAME THAT ARE IN A 02. I HAVE BUDDY THAT HAS A BRAND NEW SET OF GEARS FROM HIS 02 AND IF THEY WILL WORK IN MY CAR THERE MINE. COULD SOME ONE HELP ME OUT!!!!!!

If your buddy has a GT and you have a GT, then they will fit. Both have the 8.8 ford axle.

However, if your buddys gears are used, then I wouldn't buy them. It is impossible to get them set up to the exact same pattern. Since they would be already worn in on a different axle, they will whine in your car. Only get them if they are BRAND NEW.

used gears are fine, my buddys V-6 has 3.73s out of a ranger with 145k on em and they are fine just check the teeth on them

only buy them if they are 4.10s/4.30s

It is NOT impossible to set up used gears properly if they are in good condition. It will likely take more work than simply installing a set of new FRPP gears using the same shims, but it is NOT impossible.
