Tuners
I recently contacted a couple of speed shops about installing a CAI and SCT Custom tune by Brenspeed. Both shops have indicated that it is still necessary to do a dyno test tune (for an extra fee) to ensure the car is tuned right. Is this true? or are the shops trying to get more money out of me?
This is not absolutely necessary but it's a very very good idea especially with the Brenspeed tunes because there have been several reports over the last week or 2 about these tunes running lean which is damaging to your engine.
Every car (even with the same mods) is a little bit different. Dyno tune, with a good tuner, is the best way to go.
The more mods you make, the better the tuner needs to be. I had a tuner blow up my first motor, and then he blamed it on me... long story.

Also dont get the intake package from brenspeed, get it from a site that actually upgrades the tunes for free. He is a great guy but his selection is limited, doesn't upgrade your tune for nothing. I know of a guy that bought the LT's from him and he even said no tune required, same for the pulleys. Who the hell is gonna pay 200$ for the steed CCMV's because he doesn't carry the ford racing ones.
