Default Is this normal?

In the morning, and ONLY in the morning, I start my car and a 3 second puff of blue smoke comes outand it then turns white. I know the white smoke is normal, but blue is not because it's oil. Ford says it's not normal, and to leave the car with them over night so they can see it for themselves, as if my description of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust wasn't enough? I'm not leaving my baby there over night. Not cool. So my questions are:
1) How many people experience this?
2) Should I just overlook it?
3) Comments?
thanks

For an N/A car 3 seconds sounds a little higher than normal...

Super/Turbo charged 3Vs tend to do this because oil passing through the PCV system condenses in the intake and gets sucked/blown in when you first start up...

That is relatively easily fixed with a catch-can/filter setup on the PCV.

BUT if you really have 3 full seconds of blue that is a bit much, I didn't get much more than a "puff" on the Supercharged car and don't get any on the N/A car...

As for leaving the car overnight, I don't know what to tell you other than do you want it fixed?

You can install the catch-can and see if it goes away - there isn't a pre-whacked kit that I know of, so it takes a little reading but can be made of easily purchased parts...

I get it too but from time to time, not every morning. Have not paid attention much, so I could not tell you if it was after a hard drive, cold morning or what.

That's not normal. I would be concerned that the valve seals are worn. Take it to the dealer and have them fix it.

I get it from time to time. Usually when I started the car to move it for less than a minute or so then refired it after a few hours.

But as far as oil usage is concerned. The MOST I have had to add is 1/2 quart in 3000 miles. But since she has broken in, consumption has dropped a bit more.
