Hyperpac Trouble
I installed a Hypertec Hyperpac when I first bought my 06. When I "performance tuned" it to regular fuel the emmission light went on and has stayed on ever since. Also, when I accelerate, it feels like it "miss's" for lack of a better word. It cuts out for just a split second and then it's OK until next time I goose it. Since then I have added a Cold Air Intake, BBK Shortys, a Magnapak Cat Back....Still, the problem continues. I called Hypertech and now the answer is it must be the add ons........B.S. I said. This started when I first installed it. When I called way back then, someone was supposed to get back to me and never did. I reset all settings back to stock and my car runs perfect, and, the emmission light went off. Guess I'm now stuck with an expensive speedometer, since that's what I have used it for since I can't read the panel one. Has anyone had any problems with the Hyperpac? Thanks, Mike
I agree with what Hypertech told you.
The Hyperpac is basically a "canned tune". The problem is that your tune needs change depending on what mods you have on your car. You can't use a one-size-fits all tune. You need a tune specifically for your exact combination of mods.
I would sell the Hyperpack on Ebay. Buy an SCT-2, Livewire, or a Diablosport Predator from someone like Brent @ Brenspeed or Fred @ Evolution. They will give you a custom written tune specifically for your mods. Expect another 10+ HP above what you've got now, much better throttle response and no CELs.

That would definatley help, but it is still a canned tune.
What you really want is a custom-written tune specifically for your car and your exact set of mods.
The same thing happens with the other tuners like the SCT-2. If you buy the tuner from a discount vendor like Summit Racing, for example, then you get stuck with the default tunes from the SCT factory...which quite franky, suck. If you instead buy your tuner from an actual custom shop such as Brenspeed, then Brent will give you a custom tune to meet your exact needs. This is MUCH better than the defualt SCT tune.
Remember, the TUNE is what gives you horsepower. The tuner itself is just a tool for loading tunes.

I would get rid of the Hyperpac and go with a Predator or SCT, I'm running the Hyperpac on my truck and am having all kinds of problems with the trans. I've called and e-mailed them and cannot get any good tech support. I will be selling it and going to Predator.
