I dont know about everyone else but I had to drop my midpipe down so I could pull the exhaust back to get them off the hangers. I had a tough time losening up the stock axle backs at the seam, but I just sprayed some wd-40 on them and pryed them open a bit with a straight screwdriver to loosen them up a bit then they slid out pretty easy. I never had to remove the hangers though, I guess it just depends on how you perfer to do it.

[align=left]By bolts I guess you mean the bolts on the muffler clamp bands? If so you're right some WD-40, or liquid wrench should help. Let it sit a bit, then some gentle tapping should work them loose. After that you will need to take off both hangers on each muffler. (two bolts on each hanger) Seems like a lot of work, but really it's the easest way to do it. Plus once both hangers are off, you can wiggle the mufflers off of the car. An open end ratcheting wrench works well if you have one, it's tough getting a socket on some of them. Make a mental note how those hangers come off. You'll notice that they have one long side, and one short side. Don't get them mixed up and try to put them back the wrong way. If you do, you'll think the mufflers are made wrong! Believe me I know! I Hope this helps, I've swapped out mufflers 3 times in about as many weeks trying to find a sound I liked. I ended up with the Corsas. What kind are you putting on?

Where the midpipe ends and the catback begins there is a slip coupling, simply loosen that and (you'll need a screwdriver to pry the stop on the midpipe) slide the coupling all the way to the midpipe side. Your catback pipes will fall, loosen the bolt you reffered to and slide your mufflers off.
