Default aftermarket convertor and gears

I am toying around with the idea of installing a aftermarket torque convertor such as the (Stallion 3600-3800 or possibly a TCI Super Street Fighter) would the stock gears be enough; or should I install 3.73's or possibly 4.10's.. I just dont want to take away my trap speed.. I know convertors really wake up cars.. My 99 Z-28 with bolt ons ie; full lenghts cat back 3.73's Vigilante convertor 3600 stall Whisper lid I ran consistent 12.10's and my best was 12.09 at a 112 with a 1.62 60ft on a ET Street..

I would get the convertor and 3.73 gears. This is a very good combination on our cars.

Thanks for the heads up.. Thats what I was thinking the 3.73's in my 99 camaro seemed to be the perfect combo.. Even on the bottle I was only going 6400 through the traps and that was with a 150 shot.. My best on the bottle was a 10.92 at a little over 121 mph....
