Default induction??

morning folks, just a few simple questions I thought I'd throw out to ya before throwing out my cash. I've been looking into some induction mods I'm thinking of making to my 05 stang 4.6,3-v. As far as CAI it looks to me the C&L (over $500.00) seems to top out the rest & I'm leaning towards getting it. Whats your input about it. I'm not 1 of those who thinks the more money it cost the better it is but reading about all the CAI's out there seems the C&L seems to have the better numbers as far as HP-gains & "user friendly"
Sometime after the 1st of next year I plan to SC my 4.6 & Whipple looks like the 1 I'll be looking closer at. I've tossed around either SC or tubo & I think SC is the way to go, for me anywho. Lotta bucks riding on this decision so I wanna be "heads-up" when shelling out 5-grand + for a SC. I've looked at & read up on the other SC's, seems Whipple with the inter-cooler is the road I'll take. I'm not planning on doing any other engine mods when I install the SC so this is a question I'll be dealing with. Adding 100+ HP to a bone stock engine & drive train is something I'll be talking to people about including the Whipple folks. Seems the boost isn't all that radical & I dont plan to drive "*****-out" all the time. Well thanks for your input & advice, have a great 1--robie

You'll be more than fine as long as you stay below 450WHP...

Whipple is a very good choice...most likely the one i'll be going with when i get blown

Honestly, if you are 100% about the Forced induction... why waste the $500 on something thats only going to be used until you put the SC on? Seriously, save the cash towards the Whipple. If you have your heart set on an Intake before then, I would at least save a dollar or two and get one of the "No Tune" intakes, like the AEM Bruteforce.

yea i agree----why spend $500.00 plus for a CAI now only to take it off for a SC later?? cause I got a credit card & Its the American way! but your right in what u say. By the way I was on the C&L web site just now & they have a new version of there CAI that doesn't require a flash & its only around $350.00 It doesn't come with the tuner & comes with a restrictor plate that goes behind the TB. Brings the air flow down to about 850 CFM but still gives a better throtle responce & a lil added HP. U can take off the restrictor plate & order the tuner later if u like. heres a pic of my 05 GT
