Well guess what....it's too late to change now. The car is at the shop right now......I'll see how the 373 seems. I can always change it in the future......
And Matt, My mechanic looked and theres a sticker on the pumpkin that says 3.10. thats why I figured thats what was stock. But youre probably correct. IDK, I dont care.
BTW, Has anyone with basic mods tried to take on the Suburu STI?? If so how did you all make out.?

oh well, what's done is done, right? It's a good excuse to go FI lol...or if you still need shorter gearing I guess you could mess around with a smaller diameter wheel and/or shorter profile tire, which is less expensive than a new set of gears + install. It's all a journey....

I gotta try 4.10s and a twin screw or turbo myself but I know 4.10s and a centrifugal S/C is perfectly streetable. The are quite a few folks out there with twin screws running 4.10s so it can't be too bad. 4.10s no matter the weather!!

I loves me my 4.10's!
I feel like I'm playing pole position in downtown traffic.
Yeah, I'm an ******* with these gears.

How much is a lot? I'm still on the fence between 4.10 and 3.73.

Not sure why you had 3.10 on your rear and like you said, you don't care. It should be 3.31 though and would be on your axle code on the door sticker.

the general consensus is 3.73 for an AT, although some are running 4.10s...

What kind of RPM`s are you guys turning at highway speeds with the 4.10 gearing? I plan on changing mine out, but live in a rural area and do quite a bit of 70 to 80 mph highway travel. The Mustang won`t be my DD, but I don`t want to turn it too hard while cruising down the wide roads.

I plan on ordering my car with the 3.55 option just to have the extra gear set for emergencies or maybe to sell or trade down the road.
