Default RE: torque converter!?! please help!

I'm in the market for a new TC as well, and from what I've read and been told, a 3,000rpm stall speed converter should be fine for daily driving.
Here are some links to helpful threads here on the forum:

TCI, Performance Industries, and Level 10 all make torque converters for the 5R55S transmission.

Hope this helps,
David

hey tony...choosing a TC takes allot of research. Before you decide on your stall speed...talk to a TC rep. PI has great customer service and will talk u through the whole process..TCI Streetfighter is nothing more than a stock one rebuilt....allot of people had issues with them...but some claim they did not...so take it for what its worth...that stall speed is fine for a DD...3000 is where I am going with my FI car..install is about 200-400..but I am still waiting until fall to do it..lightningperformance, dynojoe etc all sell them..good luck..

TCI's Streetfighter should be fine if you plan on stayin NA.

www.summitracing.comsells them for $499.

As for the stall, 3000 is good enough for a DD, I know of a guy who has full bolt-ons including cams who also visit the track atleast once a month and had no issues of any kind with his TCI, yet.....
