Default Performance upgrades

I talked with my dealer about upgrades that wouldn't effect the warranty. He said, exhaust, CAI, tuner and 3:73's would give better off the line performance and 350 HP at a cost of $2200. Anyone else done anything similar?

welcome to the site, dude. basically, those prices are high but that's cuz those are FRPP parts. FRPP's stuff won't void the warranty.

you really shouldn't worry about the warranty. get a tune/intake from either b@ama or brenspeed for like 500, easy to remove for warranty service. gears done by a Ford dealer should only cost around 500-550. anything else will void the warranty and be harder to remove.

+1

Really expensive and would also agree that you should go with a Brenspeed or B A M A CIA/Tune and the gears. Changing it back to stock is 15-20 minutes if you need to take it in for warranty work. I had to do it once and I had no problems. You should be able to go this route for less than 1/2 the cost at the dealer.

i wouldnt worry about the warranty too much as stated earlier just get yourself a nice cai, tune, exhaust and 3.73's and you will be very happy with teh results plus again as stated earlier the tune can be changed in about 5 minutes for my chip i think that is about the average tho and yes 2200 is a bit expensive but i dont see it being that very expensive i was looking at about 800 just for all the parts for the gears and then the install

What exhaust workdoes it include, slip ons, headers???. Dealerscharge about$1,000for the gears and labor. Figure $400 to $500for the CIA and tune. That leaves$700 for headers and mufflers, installed thatmay not be that bad a price. Youwill pay a little extra for the dealer to do the work, but in returnyou will get a decent gruanatee. You would propably get 300+ rwhp with the CIA and exhaust.
