To all the experts out there...

I'm getting 3.73 FRPP Gears and a 1 piece aluminum driveshaft installed in October at Evolution.

I don't need adjustable control arms for a 1 piece driveshaft or do I? I know I do if I get the car lowered.

Any suggestions and/or tips for me before I bring my car in for the "all day" install? I've never left my car with someone for that long period of time!

No, you should not need LCAs for the DS. At stock height you should not have a problem with pinion angle, but they should check it neverless. If by some chance it needs to be adjusted, you'll need adj LCAs or adj UCA. Also, depending on what you're doing with the car, i.e., drag racing, LCAs may be beneficial to rid of the wheelhop and help you hook.

It's my understanding that it is absolutely mandatory to have either an adj upper ca or lower ca's or the pinion angle will be stressed. One or the other but not both. The install may appear fine but without the adj. ca(s) there will be an issue.

Well, I'd run that by the manufacturer of the particular DS. If the car is not lowered, there should not be any reason to adjust the p/a unless there are rubbing or vibration issues. Now if the person is serious about getting the most out of their launches during drag racing, they may want to look at dropping the p/a a degree or two. Again though, IMO it would be best to consult with the manufacturer.

I know where Alex is coming from....There have been people that have installed a 1 piece DS without adjusting the PA. I would not recommend it if you race the car at all. The pinion angle HAS to change when switching the DS. How much the angle changes I do not know for sure. If lowered you will need adj something and it is recommended that you also get an adj lca or uca even if not lowered for the pinion angle just to be sure. You will spend a little more now or spend 2 times as much later.

It will also depend on the DS. If it is a spydershaft, or any shaft that replaces the pinion flange, then you might be able to get buy, but i think you will see more problems with any shaft using a adapter plate.

I plan on getting this driveshaft installed from Evolution, so will I still need to get adjustable LCA's and/or UCA?

You'll need either or but not both if you go with upper you only have 1 adjustment point which imo is good in this case. Loops should be required by law if you ask me so yes put them on.
