Default Thermostat & Tuning

A buddy is putting on my LT's and O/R H pipe and told me before I get a dyno tune to be sure and put in a lower temp thermostat. He said that the cooler motor would be better on the A/F ration and the tuner could through more timing at the car without it pinging and get a few more ponies. Anyone heard of this.

Default RE: Thermostat & Tuning

Makes sense to me. You might get a few more ponies. I had the 160 deg thermo installed with my Whipple as it comes with the kit. A cooler engine runs more HP (generally speaking).
